The Shawl After Blocking

I freed my shawl from blocking a couple of days ago, and has been hanging with my bridesmaid dress on the door looking very pretty.  I’m very impressed with myself, can you tell?! Blocking it has indeed stretched it a little bit, enough to make it drape properly over your arms now.  If I had to do this pattern again I would simply add some extra flowers, and perhaps a few more rows of double trebles.

With a whole week to spare….

I was at home sick yesterday and used that time feeling lousy to finally finish the shawl for my sister’s wedding at the end of next week.  I love the pattern, but as you can see from the photos before blocking, it turned out shorter than I expected!  Hopefully after stretching it out for a while on my ironing board it will get a bit longer – otherwise I may end up using it as a cute scarf this winter!

CAL Progress

I’ve finally finished part four, and I’m now working on part five which came out on Sunday.  The last part took quite a bit of brain power – which I lack in the evenings after work – so there was a bit of frogging involved!  I got there in the end though, and I’m still enjoying the pattern and the yummy colours.Sophies universe progress 6

Another CAL!

I decided last week to join in the fun of another crochet-along, called Sophie’s Universe CAL 2015.  After carefully choosing my colours on Friday, I set to work over the weekend and nearly finished part two of the twenty-part series.  I’m having so much fun – I think it has something to do with all those gorgeous colours I’m working with!  I’m using a 4mm hook with 11 colours of Cascade 220 10ply yarn.  It’s great to work with.
